Keep Calm and Let Us Overcome Our ‘What-Ifs’

If you think you are beaten, you are,

If you think you dare not, you don’t

If you like to win, but you think you can’t

It is almost certain you won’t

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost

For out of the world we find,

Success begins with a fellow’s will-

It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are,

You’ve got to think high to rise,

You’ve got to be sure of yourself before

You can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go

To the stronger or faster man,

But soon or late the man who wins

Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!

“Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.

Some of you may have already read this poem from “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.

I started reading this book a few weeks ago and when I got to the part where it talks about “Self-Confidence”, this exact poem sticks to my mind.

Whenever we face a challenge or we get out of our comfort zone, there are lots of “What ifs” popping out in our heads.

“What if I neglect the other one?”
“What If I can’t do this?”
“What if I can’t multi-task?”
“What if I fail?”

“What If?”
“What If?”
“What If?”

I can jot down all of the “What ifs” that come to mind and just run out of time and space.

These are, after all, the factors that usually prevent us from taking action.

But, as we all know, these aren’t valid excuses.

Nonetheless, we find it very difficult to keep us from achieving the reason we are here.

Only a few days ago, I was in the same situation. I’m debating whether or not to keep posting on this blog.

Only a few days ago, I was in the same situation. I’m debating whether or not to keep posting on this blog. I’m going to quit writing so I can concentrate on my studies (I’m currently a second-year college student) and my growing YouTube channel. I’m constantly distracted by my flaws and what-ifs, making it impossible for me to multitask and do what I want.

I enjoy writing and sharing my thoughts with random readers, but the act of writing makes me uneasy at times, and I worry whether I can continue or stop.

Do you see my dilemma?

That’s when all my limiting beliefs kicked in.

Then I remember the poem I read from the book.

If I let these “what ifs” get in my way, I wouldn’t be able to do what I set out to do.

So I went back and read some of my older posts, statistics and I can see how much I’ve changed.

I recognize the shortcomings in my writings, yet someone somewhere appreciates and thanks me for it. In response to that comment, I realized that I’m only feeling sorry for myself and grateful that I can’t stop publishing this blog because someone enjoys reading it.

(This is my future reference if I worry again about my writing skills)

So I took out my pen and paper and began making a list of my goals and plans for my growing YouTube channel and blog. It contains information on how I handle my 24 hours a day while sleeping for 7-8 hours and working and studying six days a week.

The result?

I’ve decided to keep doing what I’m doing in 2020, which is blogging, making videos, finishing my schoolwork, and not stopping to find a job. (Hire me at Upwork).

I wish you all see the point here.

It wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t figured out how to overcome my anxiety.

The situation has changed. I’m going to have to keep battling my demons.

I have to keep reminding myself…

The intention is to have faith in “trusting the process”. PERIOD.

My name is Bells, a MULTI-TASKER and this is what I do.

I hope that someone, somewhere in the world, would be motivated by this message.
